Chicken Pox

Mariam

Two weeks old

bear

A little boy bear, for a little toddler boy.  Made from a shirt that Mama loved to see on Daddy, that was bound for the thrift store.  I just didn’t want to let it go, so now it has become an inexpensive Christmas gift that is sure to comfort and make even more happy memories.  All this little bear needs is a silky blue ribbon tied tightly beneath his chin, and he’s ready to be wrapped.

Poor thing–better now than later though.

The girls ooooed and awwwed over Miriam.

    The bear is too adorable!

Poor kid looks exhausted. I am so encouraged by your handling one thing after another with acceptance and …what is the word? Good humor? and you’re even finding time to sew!

Can you believe that my children are 13, 10, 7, and 4 and we have NEVER had the chicken pox?!? Isn’t that strange? I think it has to be explained by the fact that we homeschool. Still, you’d think we would have picked it up at the grocery store or the doctor’s office.

Anyway, I hope that everyone gets it all at once, rather than stretching out over the next couple of months, and that it’s mild and easily endured.

    God bless,
    ~Leah

Leah, it’s just one of those things that happen…we’ll make it just fine. Thanks for your well wishes! :)

Sara, this is only the tip of the ice berg. :) Our dryer has been out, our plumbing has major problems, we still face unemployment! God is working marvelously in our lives, though, and in our children’s lives. He is giving joy thru some very difficult circumstances. (THANKFULLY! :) ) Regarding sewing…my 12 year old stuffed the little bear, and then held the baby while I sewed the remainder. I have help! :)

    Thank you, Heather. :)

    What a darling bear!

Poor girl! I hope she gets through quick without lots of itches.

Sweet baby…she looks like such a little peanut in her Daddy’s arms.

Adorable bear. The frugality is great but the sentimental value is worth far more.

I meant “and” not “but”…”and” sounds better.

Poor Julia. Somehow in my 23 years of life, I’ve never gotten the chicken pox, even when my brother and sister had ‘em, and the neighbor kids that I was intentionally exposed to so I WOULD get ‘em, I think I’m immune. I HOPE I’m immune and don’t get ‘em when I’m older.

The little one looks so cute and peaceful.

And that bear is adorable, I envy your skills, someday I hope to learn to sew, along with learning to cook!
